ABSTRACT:
A converting method and circuit for converting horizontal M-bit data and vertical N-bit data into vertical M-bit data and horizontal N-bit data. A square matrix of M or N whichever the larger is considered, and a part of data are transposed with the diagonal axis as an axis of symmetry. The circuit may be constituted by flip-flops less than the number M.times.M (N.times.N) and selectors less than the same number.
