ABSTRACT:
The disclosure relates to a convertible piece of furniture which may be made into a chair or a bed. The convertible chair and bed has an arm section hingedly secured to a seat section and carrying a latch bracket. A back rest is hinged to the rear of the seat section having a pedestal pivotally secured to the rear of the back rest which support the back rest in a generally horizontal position in the extended bed position. Studs project laterally from the pedestal in the chair position and are engageable in the latch bracket in the chair position. The convertible chair and bed may be incorporated in various styles of furniture and may be provided with a fixed, swivel or rocking base.
