Tremorgenic mycotoxins produced by fungi in the genera Penicillium, Aspergillus, and Claviceps have been found to have potent insecticidal and growth inhibitory activity against the corn earworm and the fall armyworm. Penitrem A and dihydroxyaflavinine are most effective.
