ABSTRACT:
Method and apparatus for frequency measurement of an undulating signal with a time varying frequency. A sequence of consecutive time intervals T.sub.1, T.sub.2, T.sub.3, T.sub.4, T.sub.5, etc. is determined, and the sum ##EQU1## of times of completion of cycles of the undulating signal within the time interval T.sub.p is determined for p=1,2,3,4,5, etc. The differences T.sub.1, T.sub.2, T.sub.3, T.sub.4, T.sub.5, etc. are then used to determine an average frequency within the combined time interval pairs {T.sub.1,T.sub.3 }, {T.sub.2, T.sub.4 }, {T.sub.3, T.sub.5 }, etc.
