ABSTRACT:
A seamless, closed bottom steel container (shell) principally for food products, is drawn and lengthened from a starting blank of steel having a layer of tin; afterwards, the shell is baked to develop a corrosion resistant tin-iron alloy between the steel substrate and a reserve layer of unalloyed tin.
