ABSTRACT:
The invention includes a message switching equipment for transmitting messages between container units placed in containers and a monitoring server. The message switching equipment comprises at least a container unit201, a gateway unit202providing communication links203, and a message handler204which is coupled to the monitoring server205. The message switching equipment is adapted to send a first message206from the container unit201via a cellular network207to the message handler204in response to an event relating to the container. In more detail, the first message206is sent through a cellular network radio208of the container unit201. The equipment is further adapted to receive through a short range radio209of the container unit201a second message210originated from one of the container units and transmit the second message210from the container unit201via the cellular network207to the message handler204. The equipment is further adapted to receive through a short range radio211of the gateway unit202a third message212and transmit the third message through the gateway unit202to the message handler203.
