ABSTRACT:
A contactor assembly has a moveable contact carrier extending through an arc chute containing stationary terminals. The arms of the contact carrier support moveable contact bridges that are spring mounted on pin members. The pin members are specially configured to facilitate initial insertion of the spring between the pin head and the contact bridge with minimal radial displacement of the spring turns. The head of the pin member has a thickness smaller than the inside diameter of the smallest turn of the helical spring. The head and neck are specially configured in the direction orthogonal thereto, to facilitate insertion of the spring at an oblique angle such that one end of the spring snaps over the flanged end of the pin before the other end.
