A contact device including a pair of fixed terminals2with a fixed contact2aeach, a movable armature3with movable contacts3awhich contact to or separate from the fixed contacts2a, a movable shaft4connected to the movable armature3at its one end, a movable core8secured to the opposite end4bside of the movable shaft4, a movable core receiver7slid onto the movable shaft4so that it faces a surface8bon the movable armature side of the movable core3to receive the movable core8driven by an electromagnetic mechanism, an impact absorber17disposed on a surface7aon the movable armature side of the movable core receiver7to absorb an impact generated when the movable core3hit the movable core receiver7, and a stopper16(a movement restriction member) disposed on a surface on the movable armature side of the impact absorber17to restrict a movement of the impact absorber17.
