ABSTRACT:
A constant current generation circuit includes a current mirror circuit having an input PMOS transistor connected in the form of a diode connected in series to a constant current source. With a constant current I.sub.0 of the constant current source, a drain voltage V.sub.2 of the input PMOS transistor is set to a value near to the threshold voltage of the input PMOS transistor. A gate of the input PMOS transistor is connected to a gate of output PMOS transistor having its drain connected to an emitter of a PNP transistor, which has its base biased with an appropriate voltage. With this arrangement, a drain voltage V.sub.1 of the output PMOS transistor can be made equal to the drain voltage V.sub.2 of the input PMOS transistor, and therefore, the input current I.sub.0 flowing through the input PMOS transistor can be made equal to an output current I.sub.1 flowing through the output PMOS transistor.
