ABSTRACT:
A connector includes a receptacle1to be mounted on a substrate11and a plug5adapted to be connected to the receptacle1. The receptacle1has a shield case2provided with connection terminals31therein, and the plug5has a shield case6provided with connection terminals71therein. The shield case6of the plug5is adapted to be inserted into the shield case2of the receptacle1when the plug5is connected to the receptacle1, at which the connection terminals71of the plug5are electrically connected to the connection terminals31of the receptacle1. A tongue portion23is provided on a bottom surface of the shield case2of the receptacle1and a recess63is formed on a bottom surface61of the shield case6of the plug5so that the tongue portion23is fitted into the recess63when the plug5is connected to the receptacle1, which serve as an erroneous insertion preventing and guiding mechanism.
