ABSTRACT:
A releasable connector assembly comprising a socket body2and a plug body3. The socket body2has a set of channels15formed therein and the plug body3having a corresponding set of radial tabs7formed thereon, the channels15forming a keyway for the tabs7such that load bearing projections5, 14on the bodies are releasably engageable in the manner of a bayonet coupling. The assembly is characterised in that a set of locking pins are provided on the socket member that are extendable into the channels15so as, in use, to trap the tabs7in undercuts15kof the channels15, thereby preventing unintentional release of the plug3from the socket2, and retractable from the channels15so as to enable release of the plug3from the socket2.
