A terminal receiving member4of a connector1is attached to a housing3to cover an outer surface of the housing3, with lances41inserted in insertion holes31of the housing3. A detection portion41aof each lance41inserted in the insertion hole31is received in a connection portion receiving portion21of a terminal receiving chamber2. A lance position detection member5is mounted on the housing3to cover an outer surface of the terminal retaining member4. The lance position detection member5includes housing retaining projections51engaged respectively in detection member retaining grooves35, and lance position detection projections52each received between a retaining member retaining portion34and a partition wall33. The lance position detection member5is slidable in such a manner that the upward movement of the lance position detection member5is limited by engagement of each housing retaining projection51with a side surface of the detection member retaining groove35.
