ABSTRACT:
A connecting terminal11has a rectangular tube-like connecting portion12formed at a front side for receiving a cooperating tang-like connecting terminal and a U-shaped core conductor clamping portion13aand a U-shaped sheath clamping portion13bat a rear side. In front of the core conductor clamping portion13anear the connecting portion12there are formed plate-like locking strips14to extend in a longitudinal direction in an upright fashion. A top portion13a′ of the core conductor clamping portion13ais coupled substantially linearly with top portions14′ of the locking strips14by means of coupling portions15to reinforce a root portion of the core conductor clamping portion13a.
