A connecting member (1, 16, 20) consisting of at least two pivotably joined parts is suggested for the attachment of straps (2) to watches (3). In this arrangement, the mutually pivotable parts (6, 7; 17, 7; 21, 22) exhibit surfaces (14, 15) in contact with each other under spring pressure and having locking tabs and locking recesses, so that the parts (6, 7; 17, 7; 21, 22) of the connecting member (1, 16, 20) are releasably locked together at least after a pivoting by 180.degree..
