ABSTRACT:
A joint for rigidly and fixedly connecting in end-to-end relationship electrodes of graphite or carbon, whose ends comprise a socket with an internal screwthread into which is screwed a connector with a double screwthread or nipple which is pierced with holes acting as reservoirs containing a solid and electrically conductive cement characterised in that at least one of said reservoirs is filled with a synthetic cement formed by a thermosetting resin which in the presence of a catalyst melts at a temperature of higher than 60.degree. C. to form a liquid phase of a viscosity of lower than 2500 centipoises at between 90.degree. C. and 120.degree. C. and polymerise at a temperature higher than or equal to 120.degree. C.
