ABSTRACT:
A conical wedge for use in gripping a multiply rope or cable, especially concrete-reinforcing tendone, is circumferentially divided into a plurality of complementary parts each of which has, for at least part of its axial length, a deformation produced by pressing its circumferential edges towards its central axial plane so as to displace its interior surface adjacent said edges inwardly thereby increasing contact with the wires of the tendon. Preferably the region of deformation is confined to the narrow axial end of the wedge.
