ABSTRACT:
Hard, refractory bodies having electrical conductivity are made by mixing powdered boron and glass-forming material, and heating the mixture at high temperature to effect coalescence. Desirably, chromium, molybdenum or tungsten may be used in addition to boron to impart electrical conductivity to the insulator glass matrix. These refractory bodies are capable of withstanding temperatures above 500.degree.C.
