ABSTRACT:
Reinforced concrete members consisting of a high-strength concrete are subject to explosive spalling. Such spalling can be prevented by the introduction of a capillary system into the concrete of such members, containing substantially linear capillaries having a diameter of at least 3 .mu.m and a length of at least 5 mm.
