ABSTRACT:
A concrete forming system includes a plurality of forms each comprising a planar upper wall having curved shoulders extending along each edge thereof and side walls comprising upper outwardly tapered portions which facilitate withdrawal of the forms following a concrete forming operation and lower portions extending perpendicularly to the upper wall. The lower portion of each side wall has longitudinally spaced sets of holes formed therethrough with each set comprising a plurality of vertically spaced holes. The forms have open ends, with one end of the form having an outwardly extending lip for receiving the opposite end of an adjacent form to position the exterior surfaces of the form in alignment across the joint therebetween. End caps are provided for receiving the upper walls and the side walls of the forms to close the otherwise open end. The forms are supported on wooden spacers by means of nails extending through the holes in the side walls of the forms and into the spacers, with the positioning of the upper walls of the form relative to the spacers depending on the particular hole of each set that receives the nail. Double-headed nails are preferably utilized in order to facilitate subsequent disassembly of the forms from the spacers. The spacers have apertures formed therein and are supported by post shores which have locating pins in the upper ends thereof which are received in the apertures of the spacers.
