ABSTRACT:
A method for preventing or for treating anxiety in a patient in need thereof comprising administering wogonin to the patient in an effective dose that does not cause sedative or myorelaxant side effects. Methods for extracting wogonin from the roots ofScutelleria baicalensisGeorgi are also described.
