ABSTRACT:
The invention relates to new compositions to be used as cosmetics. The new cosmetics according to the invention contain as active agent 0.06 to 10% by weight of a reaction product of nicotinic acid, a nicotinic acid salt or a nicotinic acid halide and a polyhydroxy compound of the general formula (I), ##STR1## wherein n is an integer of 1 to 15 and R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 each stand for hydrogen, or R.sub.2 represents hydrogen and R.sub.1 is an alkyl group, or R.sub.1 is hydroxyalkyl and R.sub.2 is an alkyl group, or
