ABSTRACT:
The composition of the invention comprises, in a medium suitable for the treatment of keratin materials, and natural non-keratin or synthetic textile materials, at least one bis-(quaternary ammonium) derivative having the formula: ##STR1## in which R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 are identical or different and denote lower alkyl or lower hydroxyalkyl radicals, R.sub.3 is an alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, hydroxyalkyl or optionally substituted aralkyl radical containing a maximum of 20 carbon atoms, A.sub.1 and A.sub.2, which are identical or different, represent optionally substituted alkylene or arylene radicals which can contain up to 20 carbon atoms, Z=--SO.sub.2 -- or --CO--.sub.p, in which p=1 or 2, R.sub.6 and R.sub.7, which are identical or different, are hydrogen atoms or lower alkyl radicals, or alternatively, if Z=--CO--.sub.p in which p=1, R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 can together form a group: ##STR2## R.sub.8 and R.sub.9 being hydrogen atoms or lower alkyl radicals, and X.sup..crclbar. denotes an inorganic or organic anion derived from low molecular weight acids.
