ABSTRACT:
This invention relates to inks, ink emulsions, and to transfer elements as well as their methods of manufacture. The transfer elements provided by the invention are useful in providing imprints, including infra-red scannable imprints which are sharp, well defined prints with no feathering and which have fast dry and have excellent smudge resistance. The transfer elements comprise a substantially non-absorbent base having a coating comprising a continuous phase containing, as a discontinuous phase, a colorant carried by a vehicle comprising at least one C.sub.12 to C.sub.20 alcohol, said vehicle having a melting point below about 20.degree.C.
