ABSTRACT:
Thermosetting compositions comprising: (A) a sulfonic acid ester comprising the reaction product of an epoxy functional polymer bearing hydroxyl functionality, and a sulfonic acid having the formula ##STR1## wherein R is selected from linear or branched alkyl groups and aryl groups; and (B) an amine aldehyde crosslinking agent.
During cure of the composition, component (A) breaks down to form not only a reactive sulfonic acid catalyst, but also the hydroxy functional film forming material which crosslinks with the amine aldehyde crosslinking agent.
