Two circular wood end covers are placed at each end of the metal drum to effect closure of the wine container and to impart suitable amounts of tannin flavor to the wine. Two locking rings with adjustable mechanisms are disposed about the outer periphery of each wood end cover and each annular flange, whereby the gasket is compressed therebetween to effect a fluid-tight releasable seal.
