ABSTRACT:
A composite metal hydroxide which overcomes the instability and coarse crystal formation of calcium hydroxide and can be used in fields where calcium hydroxide conventionally cannot be used, e.g., as an agent for neutralizing or inactivating acids or halogens in plastics and rubbers and as a flame retardant for plastics and rubbers. The composite metal hydroxide has the formula,
