ABSTRACT:
A composite member particularly suited for anti-theft security systems is composed of a core of soft-magnetic material having a nickel-iron alloy (in weight percent) of 55 through 82 nickel, 0 through 4 molybdenum, the remainder iron, or an aluminum-iron alloy having 5 through 16% aluminum, the remainder iron, with a cobalt-vanadium-iron alloy or a cobalt-chromium-iron alloy envelope for the composite member.
