ABSTRACT:
A composite material, which comprises aluminum or an aluminum-base alloy as the matrix and an alumina fiber or an alumina-silica fiber having substantially no .alpha.-alumina reflection by X-ray diffraction as a reinforcement, said composite material having high tensile strength and high tensile modulus even at a high temperature.
