ABSTRACT:
A compact case employs a 360.degree., double-pin hinge which pivotally connects a lid and a base of the compact case in such a manner that the lid can be tucked away behind the base for display and packaging purposes. Before the lid is closed for the first time, the hinge is permanently locked into a position which converts it into a 180.degree., single-pin hinge.
