ABSTRACT:
A technique is disclosed whereby, while a MN (mobile node) is separated from a home network, the status available on a home network is obtained, and a communication path is optimized for a packet to be transmitted between the MN and a CN (correspondent node) via a HA (home agent). According to this technique, an HA20that manages a plurality of home addresses allocated to an MN10detects communication statuses of, for example, an ISP1and an ISP2, and selects a home address that is designated, for a packet transfer to be performed from the MN, via the HA, to a CN15, as a source address for the inner packet of an encapsulated packet to be transmitted from the MN to the HA. Since the MN designates this home address as the source address for the inner packet, a packet decapsulated and transferred by the HA is delivered to the CN via the ISP1or the ISP2in a superior communication status.
