ABSTRACT:
A facsimile apparatus which can make definite the presence or absence of optional signals such as a password signal (PWD), a sub-address signal (SUB), a selective polling signal (SEP) and the like in communication between transmitting and receiving stations, thereby preventing an erroneous operation. A digital transmit command signal (DTC) is used to notify a remote station whether a transmit command signal includes the password signal (PWD) and selective polling signal (SEP). A digital command signal (DCS) is used to notify a remote station whether a receive command signal includes the password signal (PWD) and sub-address signal (SUB).
