A colored titanium flake having a flat, smooth surface, the flake including a coherent oxide layer formed on its surface, and the thickness of the coherent oxide layer being 100 to 1000 .ANG., a process for preparing the colored titanium flakes and a resin composition containing the colored titanium flakes.
