ABSTRACT:
Refined dicarboxylic acid anhydrides such as maleic anhydride are provided with improved color stability by a treating agent selected from the group consisting of chlorine and halides or elements in group IVb of the periodic table, the transition elements, vanadium, chromium, manganese, mercury, silicon, phosphorus, bismuth, antimony, lead, cerium and sulfur.
