ABSTRACT:
A method for forming an image, comprising developing an imagewise exposed silver halide color photographic material comprising a support having thereon at least one blue sensitive silver halide emulsion layer, at least one green-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer, and at least one red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer with a color developer containing at least one aromatic primary amine color developing agent, wherein the red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer contains a high silver chloride silver halide emulsion having a silver bromide content of from 0.5 to 6 mol%, and the color developer contains from 3.5.times.10.sup.-2 to 1.5.times.10.sup.-1 mol/l of chloride ion and from 3.0.times.10.sup.-5 to 1.0.times.10.sup.-3 mol/l of bromide ion. The method provides an image having a high maximum density and a low minimum density at high sensitivity while markedly suppressing variations in photographic characteristics, particularly of minimum density, even in rapid and continuous processing.
