ABSTRACT:
A color ink jet recording method is disclosed which can provide a high-quality monochrome print, does not cause bleeding derived from intermixing of a black ink with color inks and can equalize the dot diameter of four color ink dots, offer a high drying rate and provide a sharp and vivid color image. The color ink jet recording method includes a step of forming a dot unit of a black ink consisting of plural of ink droplets, wherein color inks having a surface tension of less than 40 dyn/cm at 20.degree. C. and black ink having a surface tension of not less than 40 dyn/cm are used.
