ABSTRACT:
There is disclosed a cyan dye-forming coupler represented by formula (I) and a silver color photographic material containing same. ##STR1## wherein EWG represents an electron-attractive group having a Hammett substituent constant .sigma..sub.p value of 0.30 or more, R represents a substituent, l represents an integer of 0 to 2, X represents a hydrogen atom or a group capable of being released upon coupling reaction with the oxidized product of an aromatic primary amine derivative, R and EWG may bond together to form a ring, and when l is 2, two Rs may be the same or different or may bond together to form a ring.
