ABSTRACT:
Photographic elements containing at least one silver halide emulsion layer in which there is incorporated a cyan-color forming material which, upon reaction with oxidized color developer, forms a cyan dye having unwanted absorption in the green and blue regions of the visible spectrum can be color corrected to a surprising degree by the incorporation into said element of a colored coupler compound having the structure: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.2 is an alkyl group containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are independently selected and are alkyl groups containing 2 to 6 carbon atoms, B is hydrogen or CooR.sup.6 wherein R.sup.6 is an alkyl group containing 1 to 8 carbon atoms, and A is a sulfonated naphthylazo group selected from those having the structure: ##STR2## wherein R.sup.5 is an alkyl group containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms, M is photographically inactive, M is a monovalent cation.
