ABSTRACT:
The present invention provides an additive for improving the cold flow properties of vegetable or animal fuel oil. The additive comprisesA) a copolymer of ethylene and 8–21 mol % of at least one acrylic or vinyl ester having a C1–C18-alkyl radical andB) a comb polymer of at least one C8–C16-alkyl ester of an ethylenically unsaturated dicarboxylic acid and at least one C10–C20-olefin, wherein the sum QQ=∑i⁢w1⁢i·n1⁢i+∑j⁢w2⁢j·n2⁢j of the molar averages of the carbon chain distributions in the alkyl side chains of the olefins (monomer 1) and the fatty alcohols (monomer 2) is from 23 to 27. In Q, w1and w2are the molar proportions of the individual chain lengths in the comb polymer from the different monomers 1 and 2, and n1and n2are the side chain carbon atom lengths, excluding comb polymer bonded carbon atoms of monomer 1, and the running variables i and j are the individual side chain lengths in the particular monomer groups.
