ABSTRACT:
A coating type insoluble lead dioxide anode comprising a porous metal substrate and a lead dioxide electrode layer coated on at least the outer surface of said substrate and the peripheral edges of the openings of pores in the substrate through an intermediate coating layer of a metal or a metal oxide. The inner wall surfaces of said pores may preferably coated with said lead dioxide electrode layer through said intermediate layer, and it is more preferable that the interiors of said pores are filled with lead dioxide.
