A coating resin composition comprising, as a coating-forming resin binder, an epoxy resin derivative containing a functional group represented by the following formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents a hydrogen atom or methyl group; each of R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 represents a C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl group independently of the other;
