ABSTRACT:
Abradable coatings for turbine engine shrouds are formed from biscuits formed of silicon-diffused powdered alloy compositions which are processed with an HE precursor to strip oxides from the coating during processing, the alloy blends comprising MCrAl(Y).sub.n alloys in which n is 0, 1 or more.
