ABSTRACT:
A coating composition for a welding electrode comprising 35 to 55% CaCO.sub.3, 1 to 8% Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3, 1 to 7% CaF.sub.2, with the ratio of Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3 to CaF.sub.2 being from 0.4 to 1.6, 1 to 5% Mn, 4 to 9% Si and 2 to 9% Ni with the balance being a slag forming agent, an arc stabilization agent and a binding agent.
