ABSTRACT:
The present disclosure relates to novel fluid application processes and apparatus wherein fluid extruded through a nozzle is wiped off the nozzle at varopis angles of attack by forcing a moving sheet, web, or other article against the nozzle in a controlled manner as the same moves past the nozzle, thus to produce predetermined in-line coatings upon the sheet, web, or other article, ranging from an array of dots and lines to an array of bands or elongated continuous bands of coating fluid.
