A coating apparatus 10 is disclosed, which comprises a slot 18 and a chamber 17 formed upstream the slot 18 such as to distribute a coating liquid 12 in a coating width direction. The coating liquid is coated such that it is pressed against a web 11 as it is discharged from the slot.
