A closing device100which presses a die2against a rotating pipe body1such that an open end portion of the pipe body1is plastically closed by the die2includes a cored bar3inserted into the pipe body1to close the open end portion of the pipe body1on the opposite side of the die2,and a reactive force applying mechanism43, 60which allows the cored bar3to retreat and applies a reactive force to the retreating cored bar3when the cored bar3receives a predetermined load or more during processing of the pipe body1by the die2.
