The invention relates to a circuit unit for a semiconductor unit which produces radiation, with a forward voltage Ufbeing applied during operation to the semiconductor unit which produces radiation, and with a forward current Ifflowing through the semiconductor unit which produces radiation, with the circuit unit regulating the forward current Ifsuch that an actual value Vactwhich depends on the forward current Ifand the forward voltage Ufassumes a predetermined nominal value Vnom. The invention also relates to a radiation source.
