A circuit array substrate10includes pixel and connecting edge sections80and90. Connecting edge section90is provided with edge portions5aand shoulder portions55of transparent thin resin film5over which terminal pins101of tape carrier packages (TCP)100are disposed. Terminal pins101are connected to connecting pads14at their contact portions103. Shoulder portions55prevent a coated photoresist film from being excessive in depth and residues of the photoresist film from being left in the foot of edge face5ain the step of forming metal reflective pixel electrodes. Thus, no residue of the metal film exists after its etching treatment in that step so that no electrical short circuits are caused between connecting pads14and adjacent terminal pins101.
