Water-soluble, anionic, chromium complexes of disazo compounds, at least one of the complex-forming disazo compounds being of the formula, ##STR1## in which ##STR2## is the radical of a carboxy group-containing diazo component of the benzene or naphthalene series, the carboxy group being ortho to the azo group and the diazo component being free from other metallizable groups, and
