ABSTRACT:
A system for processing color information in a video signal is provided. The system includes a memory with logic, and a processor configured with the logic to receive a compressed video stream that includes a frame picture having chroma samples and luma samples, wherein the processor is further configured with the logic to receive chroma information in the compressed video stream that specifies locations of the chroma samples relative to the location of the luma samples. Other embodiments for processing color information are included herein.
