ABSTRACT:
In the preparation of chlorinated polymers by chlorination in an organic solvent and separation of the solid product by treatment with steam or hot water the proportion of residual solvent in the product is reduced by carrying out the treatment with steam or hot water in the presence of a polymer derived from an olefinic hydrocarbon or chlorohydrocarbon and having a second-order transition temperature below 0.degree. C.
